ImprovementMeter
In October 2020, Kideo launched the VerbeterMeter. Kideo uses this tool to ask parents for feedback at various times. It's an important tool for parents to make their voices heard. As we mentioned in our newsletter, we wanted to learn more about it. That's why we created the VerbeterMeter. Kideo Assen asked Rixte's parent committee all about it. Read the results below.

The importance of good adhesion
At Kideo Childcare we carry babies
We started carrying babies two weeks ago. Leonie Winkel from Dragen doe je zo! visited us to teach our staff how to carry babies ergonomically and responsibly in a baby sling. staff also received an explanation about the background and the how and why of wearing it.
I want to do it myself
At Kideo we encourage children's self-reliance
Children are allowed to develop at their own pace and in a safe environment. All educational staff encourage children to try everything themselves. This involves trial and error, and we believe in the power of repetition. By approaching children in a positive way , they learn to enjoy becoming independent. It often happens that a child puts on their pants backward. This is perfectly fine. "You did that so well!" Children's self-confidence and self-esteem increase through compliments. According to Dutch educational psychologist JFW Kok, the parenting relationship is based on trust, love, and respect. When a child feels safe, they will feel confident enough to fully explore their development. Children often indicate when they are ready to try things for themselves. This is also called intrinsic motivation.
Anticipate and motivate
When you notice a child wanting to do something independently, you can anticipate this and motivate them. Every child is different, so pay close attention to their needs. You can explain what's expected, offer tips, demonstrate, or lend a hand. It's okay if it doesn't work right away. Keep practicing, and if it frustrates a child, you can even let it go for a while. Eventually, they'll succeed.
