Horizontal groups at Kideo
At Kideo, we work with horizontal groups: groups where children of the same age are placed together. This approach seamlessly aligns with each child's developmental stage and offers calm, recognition, and targeted guidance.
PHASE 1 - Completed
In the coming months we will be working on the first phase of the renovation, which will see us create two groups in May: one group for children aged 0 to 2 years and one group for children aged 2 to 4 years.
PHASE 2
In the second phase, we will work towards completing the entire daycare program, adding the final two groups so we have a dedicated group for each age group. We expect this to be completed in early 2026. If enrollment increases significantly in the coming period, the second phase will be completed sooner.
What are horizontal groups?
A horizontal group consists of children of a similar age group. We distinguish between:
Babies (0–1 years), Toddlers (1–2 years), Young Toddlers (2–3 years), and Old Toddlers (3–4 years)
At Kideo, we use horizontal grouping, meaning children are divided into groups based on their age. We use four fixed age groups. This division closely reflects children's natural developmental stages.
By placing children of similar ages together, we can better respond to their needs, interests, and developmental level. This provides structure, familiarity, and a calming daily routine. Children feel safe and understood, which contributes to their self-confidence and growth.
The fixed group structure also creates a familiar environment with familiar faces, both for the children and the pedagogical professionals. This fosters a strong bond and allows us to focus on development within each age group.

Baby group (0 – 1 year)
Every baby deserves an environment where safety, peace, and personalized attention are a given. In the baby group, we create the perfect foundation for children to develop at their own pace.
We tailor daily care activities, such as sleeping, feeding, and playing, to each child's individual rhythm. This allows each baby to develop without pressure, contributing to healthy well-being and natural growth.
Our pedagogical professionals are familiar and trusted faces who create a secure bond and a warm, low-stimulus environment. They lovingly stimulate the sensory, motor, and social development of babies.
This way, we ensure that every child feels seen, heard, and understood. This lays a solid foundation for their further growth, with trust, safety, and individuality always at the forefront.
Toddler group (1 – 2 years)
In the toddler group, we encourage children to explore the world with all their senses and develop their independence. We offer a safe, structured environment with a clear daily routine, combined with space for spontaneous play and discovery.
Language development, play, and motor skills receive ample attention, with our pedagogical professionals respecting and supporting each child's individual pace and initiative.
In this way we lay a solid foundation for a curious and self-confident toddler who is ready for the next step in his development.
Toddler group young (2 – 3 years)
At Kideo we offer young toddlers a rich and challenging environment in which they can discover and develop their independence.
We create opportunities for toddlers to develop their language skills, play together, and explore their curiosity. Our activities are carefully tailored to their world and foster creativity, self-expression, and social-emotional growth.
Toddler group old (3 – 4 years)
In this group, we consciously prepare children for the transition to primary school. We focus on developing social skills, teamwork, and learning to manage structure and tasks. We achieve this through meaningful themes, group circle time, and assignments that promote independence.
Toddlers in this stage have a strong urge to understand the world, to actively participate, and to collaborate with others. Therefore, we offer a rich environment in which they can indulge their curiosity and express themselves. Play and creativity are given ample space, both indoors and outdoors, so that children can further develop their skills in a natural and playful way.

TARGETED DEVELOPMENT STIMULATION
Because children of the same age are together, we can offer activities that perfectly match their experiences and motor, cognitive, or social skills. This way, every child gets the right challenge at the right time.

2. MORE PEACE AND STRUCTURE
Young children need clarity and predictability. In horizontal groups, all children have similar routines, such as nap and meal times. This creates a sense of calm within the group and contributes to a safe atmosphere.

3. STRONG GROUP COHESION
Children feel more comfortable among their peers. They emulate each other, recognize behavior, and learn to interact through play. This promotes their social development and self-confidence.

4. EXPERTISE OF EDUCATIONAL PROFESSIONALS
Our pedagogical professionals specialize in supporting their specific age group. This allows them to better recognize signals and respond to the individual needs of each child.
Attention to the transition to the next group
When your child is ready for the next developmental stage, we carefully prepare the transition to the next group. We do this in small steps, with extra attention and clear communication for both parent and child. This way, we ensure a smooth transition without unnecessary stress.
A safe base for every child
At Kideo, safety, trust, and development are paramount. Our horizontal groups are small and have a homely atmosphere, ensuring every child feels comfortable and has the space to grow. We work with familiar faces in the group and maintain a clear daily routine, so children know what to expect.
