The groups of childcare Groningen

We have two houses: the Baby House and the Toddler House

The Baby House has four groups: two baby groups and two toddler groups. The baby groups accommodate 12 and 6 babies, respectively. The toddler groups accommodate 15 and 10 children. Both groups have separate bedrooms with a safe bed for each child. The number of childcare staff is tailored to the group size and age of the children.

The Toddler House is home to our 2- and 3-year-olds. For the 3-year-olds, there are two groups of 16 children each.

For the toddlers there are two spacious dining kitchens where we eat and cook together.

We have a baby and a toddler center. Both centers are tailored to the needs of the children. The atmosphere is homey and warm. The decor is stimulating, encourages discovery, and offers cozy nooks for relaxing. We use sustainable natural materials, open shelving for display, and wobble boards for climbing and lounging.

Tucked away behind the houses is a spacious, enclosed garden where your child can play and get dirty to their heart's content. The garden connects the two houses, allowing all the children to interact with each other.

Handy parent portal

Kideo likes to keep you informed. When you're at work, your child is playing with us. That's why we have a convenient parent portal. This is a secure environment where we share fun moments and keep a digital notebook for your child. Parents can easily request extra care, report holidays, and view invoices.

INFORMATION

At all Kideo locations, the daycare uses horizontal grouping. In horizontal grouping, children are divided into age groups. These can be 0-1 year, 0-2 years, 1-2 years, 2-4 years, 2-3 years, and 3-4 years.

Children begin and end their day in their own home group. During the day, they can leave their home group for activities. These can include activities in the broadest sense of the word, such as lunch, dancing, creative activities, and so on. On quiet days, children may be cared for in a vertical group for ages 0-4.

For the transition from one group to another, not only age but also the individual child's development is closely considered. A child's advancement to the next group is marked by a festive "transition ritual."

Age structure

The ratio of staff to children present at any one time depends on the age group. In accordance with the updated Childcare Quality Agreement, Kideo uses the following staff/child ratios:

children aged 0 to 1 year; 1 supervisor per 3 children
children aged 1 to 2 years; 1 supervisor per 5 children
children aged 2 to 4 years; 1 supervisor per 8 children
children aged 4 to 12 years; 1 supervisor per 10 children

How does it work?

Children aren't always the easiest eaters, especially when it comes to bitter vegetables. A staggering 60% of children don't eat enough vegetables. This is despite the fact that proper nutrition is incredibly important in the first few years of life. Sometimes children need to try something 10-15 times before they get used to it. That seems like a lot of work... and we also understand that parents sometimes give up after the umpteenth time. Luckily, you can help us out! Daycare is the ideal place for a taste adventure.
