Imagination development
Around the toddler and toddler years (Age 1 to 4 years), fantasy plays a major role in the little one's life. The distinction between fantasy and reality is still difficult for the little one. What young children do not yet know or understand will be filled in by their own imagination. Using imagination ensures that children can better imagine themselves, learn to empathize with others, learn to deal with feelings and dare to express experiences. This allows the child to learn to process different events in a healthy way.
Stimulation by playing together Many toys nowadays are too detailed and realistic that they leave nothing to the imagination. We live in a digital age where children spend a lot of time behind screens. As a result, fantasy development is not sufficiently stimulated. Various senses are no longer stimulated enough, because imagination is no longer required. Fortunately, you can easily stimulate this yourself by, for example, taking a few blocks and building towers or playing a restaurant together, where the most delicious dishes are put on the table. Get involved with your child in a game full of ideas and fantasies. This is not only good for the development of thinking skills in general, but also for learning to empathize with others. Your child learns to think more 'out of the box' by playing role plays. Your child will get the feeling of being given the space, safety and freedom to develop this side. For the future, this may mean that your child is not afraid to follow his or her own path and to discover and solve new things.
