OUR WORKING METHOD
A unique pedagogical vision, inspired by many
Our working method at Kideo
At Kideo, everything revolves around balance: between calm and challenge, structure and freedom, discovery and security. We combine the best of various pedagogical approaches and translate them into our own unique, caring Kideo approach.
PHASE 1 - Completed
In the coming months we will be working on the first phase of the renovation, which will see us create two groups in May: one group for children aged 0 to 2 years and one group for children aged 2 to 4 years.
PHASE 2
In the second phase, we will work towards completing the entire daycare program, adding the final two groups so we have a dedicated group for each age group. We expect this to be completed in early 2026. If enrollment increases significantly in the coming period, the second phase will be completed sooner.

Familiar faces
Organic healthy food
Healthy food is a natural part of our approach. We serve fresh, organic meals and snacks daily. These are free of added sugars or flavor enhancers. Organic food not only supports physical development but also helps children develop healthy eating habits and a sense of taste.
Eating is also a social occasion for us. We eat together at the table, chat, involve children in preparing simple snacks, and encourage them to taste and explore. Seeing food makes you want to eat!

Horizontal groups
We work with horizontal groups, in which children of the same age are together: babies (0–1 year), toddlers (1–2 years), young toddlers (2–3 years) and older toddlers (3–4 years).
This group structure creates a sense of calm and familiarity. Children have similar needs, rhythms, and interests. This allows us to tailor our activities, daily routines, and support precisely to what children need at that specific moment in their development. From peace and quiet for the youngest children to independence and school preparation for the oldest children.
Playing outside
We go outside every day. Rain or shine, fresh air and exercise are essential for healthy development. Playing outside isn't just good for motor skills, but also for social skills and self-confidence.
Our outdoor spaces are designed to be challenging and child-friendly, with room to run, climb, build, feel, and explore. Think sandboxes, vegetable gardens, balance bikes, and mud kitchens. Playing in nature sparks the imagination and builds children's resilience. Outdoors, they run, build, dig, and imagine. This stimulates motor skills, senses, and social skills.

Homely atmosphere
Our daycare feels like a second home. The decor is warm and inviting, with natural materials, soft colors, and plenty of light. The groups are small and manageable, ensuring that every child is seen.
We follow a clear daily routine and create moments of calm, such as reading together on the couch or relaxing with a cuddle. This homely approach makes children feel safe, which forms the foundation for learning, playing, and developing.

FAMILIAR FACES
Children see familiar faces every day. Educational professionals work in consistent groups, which creates a secure attachment. This stability is important, especially for young children. They build a bond with their caregivers and know exactly who to turn to for comfort, help, or just a hug. This helps children feel more comfortable and confident enough to explore their surroundings and try new things.
Familiar faces also provide peace of mind for parents: you know who is looking after your child, and that gives you confidence.

Our pedagogical vision
At Kideo, every child is given the space to develop naturally and safely. We encourage children to be themselves, teach them to interact respectfully with others, and prepare them for their place in society.
Our approach is based on four pedagogical pillars:
1. Emotional safety
A sense of safety and trust is the foundation for growth. Through familiar faces, rituals, and structure, we provide an environment where children feel comfortable and confident in their explorations.
2. Personal development
Every child is unique. We adapt to each child's interests and pace, encouraging independence, self-confidence, and a positive self-image. This way, children learn to stand on their own two feet from an early age.
3. Social-emotional growth
At our school, children learn to manage their emotions and develop social skills like cooperation, sharing, and consideration for each other. We guide children in engaging in and resolving conflicts, so they grow in empathy and self-awareness.
4. Learning to live together
We teach children norms and values, such as respect, honesty, and caring for one another. In the group, they practice living together in a diverse society: playfully, naturally, and in connection with others.
A unique pedagogical vision, inspired by many
We base our pedagogical approach on insights from various recognized pedagogical schools. Instead of strictly adhering to a single method, we combine elements that align with our vision and children's needs. This creates the unique Kideo approach.
- We inherit the importance of free movement and respectful care from Emmi Pikler . At the same time, we also believe in the importance of attachment. That's why we carry babies in a baby sling when appropriate. This way, we combine freedom with closeness.
- Rudolf Steiner inspires us with his vision of rhythm, imitation, and meaningful play. We offer a familiar daily structure and materials that encourage discovery.
- Thomas Gordon encourages us to listen: children are taken seriously, heard, and encouraged to find their own solutions. Active listening is a core practice in our pedagogical approach.
- Reggio Emilia (Loris Malaguzzi) motivates us to let children take the initiative. Our pedagogical staff observe, respond to what's happening, and follow the child's interests.
- JFW Kok emphasizes the mutual relationship between child and adult. We set clear boundaries, but always with attention and connection.
How do you see that reflected in the group?
- Children help with activities such as cooking, cleaning and being creative
- We give children time and space to make their own choices within a clear structure
- There is room for music, stories, exercise and outdoor play every day
- Attention is paid to emotions, social interaction and individual development
At Kideo, the child is central – with space to grow, to feel, to choose and above all: to be themselves.
